ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists residing in the West Shore communities, age 19 or older.

Proposal Entry Deadline: Monday, June 5, 2017 at 5:00 pm.

Artists will be notified via email by Friday, June 9, 2017 at 5:00 pm.

EVENT DETAILS: Art at the Pub is a fun and social event designed to foster creativity in adults! This program offers art-making instruction to a group of adults (19+) at all levels of experience.

Each 2-2.5 hour workshop will be held at Six Mile Pub in View Royal, and will accommodate a maximum of 25 participants. Art at the Pub offers an opportunity for each participant to create a work of art after enjoying a meal and beverage. All material costs will be reimbursed by the WSAC, and the selected artist(s) will receive a professional fee of $300.

Note: The selected artist must be a current WSAC member (Individual membership fee is $20 annually). This event is subject to a minimum of 15 pre-paid participants.

 

SUBMISSION PROPOSAL: Artists are invited to submit an email indicating interest to instruct the Art at the Pub event. Appropriate materials include watercolour, acrylic, or mixed media in a small format, with considerations for the allotted time. There is a $250 budget for approved material costs.

Email of Interest must include:

  1. Information Sheet: Instructor name, email address, mailing address, phone number.
  2. Artist Details: A brief biographical statement and CV (highlighting recent teaching experience).
  3. Project Suggestion(s): Provide one or two concepts for the art-making project (including materials list and budget for 12 participants), and outline how the workshop will unfold. Include considerations for the pub setting and in managing the group size.

TICKET SALES: Tickets will be $35/individual and will include all supplies, dinner, and an 8 oz. beverage. All sales must be conducted through West Shore Arts Council webpage.

PUBLICITY: Photographs will be taken at the workshops. These images may be featured on the West Shore Arts Council website and on social media. There may also be a feature in the Goldstream News Gazette and in the West Shore Arts Council newsletter. Credit will be given to the artist-instructor.
