Circle of Three at Coast Collective Art Centre from July 18th to 29th features distinct works by three Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) from Vancouver Island. This is their first exhibition at The Coast Collective Gallery and they are excited to be showing their new works in this region.
Nancy Day presents “Mystique,” a series of provocative landscapes based on travels through France’s pastoral areas, as well as diverse images from our own country. Nancy has a BFA from the University of Alberta and has maintained a thirty-four-year art practice. These unique and engaging works are suitable for small and large areas alike.
Laura Hilts presents “Organic Geometry,” a series of delicate watercolour and acrylic works combining geometric and organic shapes. Laura is an Active member of FCA and a Fellow of the Ottawa Watercolour Society. She is resident artist and founding member of The TOSH 10 Gallery in Qualicum Beach.
Carmen Mongeau presents “Murmurs,” a new series of contemporary printmaking featuring monotypes, monotypes chine-colle, and collagraphs. These abstract works and organic renderings capture the colours of remembered times and places. Carmen is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design. She is an Active member of FCA with a twenty-five-year art practice.
Operated by the Society for Arts on the South Island (SASI), whose mission statement is to nurture British Columbia arts and culture … through the production and support of showcases of fine art and craft, the provision of arts education programs, public performances, and special community cultural events, Coast Collective is delighted to host this event.
