Lantern Festival (2016)
Aug 23
“Light Up the Hills” in September 2016 was a thoroughly successful project and will be repeated in 2017 due to popular demand. Three preliminary lantern-making workshops were hosted by Langford Legion and the Coast Collective, and lantern-making materials were also provided at the start of the event at the new Belmont Secondary School. Participants were given simple maps to aid in following the pathways through Westhills to enjoy the talents of harpists, dancers, jazz musicians and installation artists. Trolley and bus service were provided at the end of the walking route to return drivers to the parking lot.
