Light up the Hills - First annual Lantern Festival on the Westshore
Co-sponsored by the West Shore Arts Council and Westhills. Three lantern-making workshops were held at different venues in advance of the event, and a booth was set up on site at Belmont High School so families could prepare lanterns before starting the walk. The weather was cooperative and the positive feedback from attendees encourages us to plan a repeat of the event in 2017. Video courtesy of Studio Rabazzo.

Como una fantasia - Michael Kevin Jones: solo cello recital - Metchosin
Joaquín Rodrigo's "Como una fantasia" for cello was written in 1979 for the distinguished Mexican cellist Carlos Prieto. It was forgotten after its first and only performance in 1979 and had to wait until 1989 to finally be published. After the great Spanish composer's death in 1999 his solo cello music remained lost, unknown and unplayed, even in the country of its origin.
