Searching for Artists to create a Plein Air piece inspired by the W̱MÍYEŦEN Nature Sanctuary March 25, 26, 27th!
Feb 27
JOIN The Human Nature Counselling Society for a special first time Plein Air artists event on March 25, 26 & 27th! We will be opening the gates of this beautiful protected sanctuary to artists interested in sharing in art making in the theme of Gratitude, Wellness and Nature. Artists are invited to explore this biodiverse ecosystem over the 3 days and gain inspiration for their art work. We ask that you contribute an original art piece towards our upcoming fundraising event on June 20th at the Sanctuary, where donated pieces will be displayed and sold through silent auction.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will support accessible Nature-based therapy services for children, youth and families across Greater Victoria, Cowichan, Squamish and Cortes Island through HUMAN-NATURE COUNSELLING SOCIETY, as well as the ongoing preservation of W̱MÍYEŦEN Nature Sanctuary.
Artists can be on site from 10am – 4pm each day. In addition to several trails on the 42 acre sanctuary, there will be pop up tents for painting under protection from weather if needed. We will provide lunch, snacks and tea/coffee for the days on site, as well as guided tours of the land and forest bathing walks to connect with the sanctuary’s myriad flora and fauna. We want to focus on nurturing a sense of connection, presence and gratitude. Only 10 spots will be available on site each day to maximize space for each artist.
If you have any specific questions about the Sanctuary, and what to expect during the day, please email John: pickersgilljohn969@gmail.com
