The Victoria Conservatory of Music at Westhills/Langford continues its partnership with the West Shore Arts Council, by offering a new multi-arts drop-in class on Saturday mornings: Art and Music Safari. (vcm.bc.ca/westhills-artsafari)
Children age 5-10 can explore their creative potential in both visual arts and music!
Musical activities (10-11am) include exploring the many types of sounds we can make and using them to create music, while learning the fundamentals of music.
Visual art activities (11am-12pm) include developing and decorating a unique music instrument and/or learning to express musical thoughts through colour and texture.
With the approach of the Holiday season, these drop-in classes offer the perfect low-cost opportunity for kids to have a fun and educational music and art learning experience while parents do their shopping!
Instructors: Nancy Curry (Music component) and Shoni Robertson (Visual Art component)
This in-person, drop-in class is held at the VCM’s Westhills location at 210-1314 Lakepoint Way, Langford (in the YMCA/YWCA building, at the library entrance). Health and safety measures are in place including the requirement that all participants wear masks. The maximum capacity for the class is 9, which allows for physical distancing between each student. This class is first come, first served and registration is not required.
